The Southland Development Authority Puts NICI Impact Grant to Work with Innovative Investments
The Southland Development Authority (SDA) has dedicated over five years to cultivating pathways to economic access and mobility for all people in South Suburban Cook County. SDA partners with municipal, industry and community leaders to create mutually beneficial investment and revitalization opportunities.
SDA’s second Impact Grant contributes to the strategic launch of Monarch Fund investments in South Suburban Cook County, putting into effect the capacity-building and implementation research that NICI supported in 2024. The Monarch Fund ensures that more projects, including those focusing on business support, manufacturing, real estate and health, can access SDA’ specialized services. Partnering with SDA is a shining example of NICI’s commitment to bold economic development initiatives that help communities thrive.
“Our partnership with NICI reflects a shared commitment to advancing inclusive economic growth in the Southland — growth that serves stakeholders across the community. With NICI’s continued investment, we are positioned to operationalize the Monarch Fund. This fund functions as a pivotal tool to create flexible capital that will accelerate business development and community revitalization across our region.”
