Goodwill Industries’ Excel Center to Expand Credential Offerings for its Adult High School Graduates Through NICI Impact Grant Funding
The Goodwill Excel Center is Illinois’ first Adult High School that provides a state-recognized high school diploma. Each student at the Excel Center also receives a dedicated life coach; free, onsite childcare; transportation assistance and certifications and dual credits to prepare them for meaningful jobs.
The Goodwill Excel Center is using its first NICI Impact Grant to help students access certifications in Welding; CDL-A (Truck Driver Training); and Robotic Machine Setup, Programming and Operation. Additionally, funding will support coverage for physical exams, uniforms and professional equipment required for students’ next steps in the workforce.
